Seamus Cahill Theatrics of Space (2021)
The city of Newcastle is in a state of change. With new high rise developments popping up from the city through to inner suburbs, a new urban fabric is beginning to take shape. However, this new fabric does not come without loss. The insertion of new ultimately means removing the old, and it is at this intersection Theatrics of Space resides. Taking from what once was, and what it is to be, this project edits the future. Presenting an alternate development mode which will create a more vibrant and interesting city.

Meg Olsen & Kate Glanville Fish Out Of Water (2021)
Fish Out Of Water is a project that aims to create a land based re-circulating aquaculture system at the site of a decommissioned fish cannery. The scheme reimagines what the future of fishing infrastructure could entail whilst facilitating urban regeneration and fostering public engagement. The Cannery is located in the fishing town of Eden, on the NSW South Coast. Historically marine aquaculture has a detrimental consequence to surrounding ecologies, which the project aims to reform.

Lauren Burke
Scar City (2021)
Scar City is a speculative exploration of the future of gentrification and community resilience. The project utilises the site of the abandoned Govan Graving Docks in Glasgow, Scotland. This project looks to contribute to the conversation around gentrification, community engagement and urban renewal of vacant sites.

Lochlan Howard
Carrington Cosmic Terminal (2021)
This project addresses the current existential emptiness western society faces. Blue screens, images, and information flood our daily lives. As such, the research explores how sacred spaces, in a growing secular society can provide a positive sense of repose, and hopefully endure clarity.
