This project explores alternative methodologies and mechanisms for emerging models of creative practice, drawing parallels between the 'remix' culture in music and the Surrealist technique of Exquisite Corpse. Within the context of architectural design, you will examine the intersection of culture, technology, and collaboration, investigating how these elements can be synthesised in new and inventive ways.

The project will focus on the creative contributions of three iconic cultural figures—David Lynch, David Bowie, and David Byrne. Their distinct works, ranging from Lynch’s surreal, emotive dreamscapes to Bowie’s theatrical stagecraft and Byrne’s hyperbolic, larger-than-life costumes, provide a rich source of material for exploring methods of appropriation and assemblage. These cultural figures offer expansive realms of creative expression to be examined as generative tools for architectural design.

Using Rhino software, you will engage with generative design processes to align with the unique signatures of your clients’ creative outputs. These design elements will be treated as ‘assets’ to be exchanged and reconfigured within a collaborative framework. In alignment with the practices of Perry Kulper and Clarke Thenhaus—who challenge conventional notions of authorship, appropriation, and plagiarism—you will recombine these assets, creating 'cross-bred' speculative designs for the exhibition.
